SYNOPSIS
Earl and Baby are two young lovers with a plan to escape their small Texas town. But when Baby's dim-witted cousin Junior gets tangled up in a whole heap of trouble, Earl has just 48 hours to save the day, rescue Junior, and keep his promise to get Baby to Los Angeles in time for pilot season.
JOSH'S ROLE
Josh plays Earl Crest, who at first look may seem like your everyday redneck. He takes care of his family and is a good friend. The most important thing to Earl is his Baby, played by James King. Their main goal in the movie is to make it out of their small town home to LA, so that Baby can be a soap opera actress. This plan is interrupted by one of Junior's many problems. Two gun shot wounds later, Earl and Baby succeed in getting out of Texas.

QUOTABLES
Tinker: They're gonna shoot us like fish in a bowl the minute we walk in the door.
Earl: Well, maybe we'll get lucky, Tinker, and they'll only shoot you!
Baby: (to Junior) You shot my fiancé, now I'm gonna show you how it feels.
Earl: Uh, baby? Would you mind putting off shooting Junior until after you take me to see Doc Cragen?
Baby: [throws the gun off somewhere in the tall grass] Whatever you say, honey.
Wayne: Smyrna, Earls kissing his sister agian.
Earl: God Damn it Wayne, I really wish you would stop calling her that.
Baby: After work I think I'm gonna go home and change.
Earl: I don't see the point though, Baby. You just can't improve on perfection.
RANDOM REVIEWS
"If “Lone star state of mind” is the best Joshua Jackson is going to be offered, I fret to think what will happen to the lesser popular stars of his series, “Dawson’s Creek”." -- Moviehole.com (click for full review)
"This is an amiable comedy full of slapstick, mix-ups, confusion and foolish characters. Joshua Jackson makes an effective job of playing the sensible Earl, an amusing character trying to make sense of the idiots around him." -- Movie-Gazette.com (click for full review)
