Josh to perform in "A Life In The Theatre"
According to the UK Daily Mail:
Joshua Jackson who will star with Patrick Stewart in a new production of David Mamets's bittersweet play A Life In The Theatre, which starts previews at Apollo Theatre in London's Shaftesbury Avenue on January 27th. It will mark the first time 26-year-old Mr Jackson has appeared on a stage since he was eight. 'I was Charlie in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, but it has been a long road from there to here,' said the actor, who appeared in Dawson's Creek on TV. 'Consider me slightly nerve-racked, but that's part of the fun, isn't it?' Jackson added that he also had a safety net - in the persons of Mr Stewart, a thespian of great distinction, and director Lindsay Posner. But he insisted he wasn't after a free ride. 'I'm going to pay my own way. You have to prove yourself against the best. Post-Dawson's Creek, Jackson has made four films including Wes Craven's Cursed with Christina Ricci. However, Clare Lawrence and Anna Waterhouse, the producers from Out Of The Blue production company (they were the people behind This Is Our Youth), were keen to work with the young actor. And he confessed to me that he was eager 'to meet all the ghosts of the theatre'. The play is about a veteran actor in a two-hander with a newcomer, and it explores the power dynamics of men. the first night will be on February 2nd.
