Climate Change is Bad!

Celebrity endorsement is a tradition as old as the Hollywood hills and almost as much a feature of the Tinseltown landscape. It's no surprise, therefore, to see the celebrities out for a new all-star campaign – but this time it's for a good cause. No doubt spurred on by the scary bits in The Day After Tomorrow, actors including Kevin Bacon, Orlando Bloom, and Joshua Jackson have lined up to explain that global warming is "not cool". (Oh, the wit. These guys could work for Empire)

The new campaign will endeavour to explain to Americans why driving seven-seat multi-terrain vehicles fifty yards to the grocers is not the way to ensure a healthy planet. While we suspect that a few posters aren't going to do it, it's nice to see someone give a good cause the old college try. From TV-land, The West Wing's Bradley Whitford joins the line up with his wife Jane Kaczmarek, star of comedy show Malcolm in the Middle, and newcomer Mischa Barton from The O.C.

There are some inspired lines in here. We're particularly fond of the Kevin Bacon poster, which informs us "Six degrees can make a world of difference". Geddit? Six degrees? Kevin Bacon? Ah, we give up. You can check out the full gallery here. While the action needed to arrest this global threat may take more than some buff types in vests, the message here is clear and simple. Just say no to climate change kids! You heard it here first.
