"Separation Anxiety: The Creek in Review"
by The WB.com
It's time once again to review the fine mess in which all the kids in Capeside have found themselves. As we all know, prom was a night to remember when Pacey broke up with Joey, Gretchen broke up with Dawson, and Drue just barely saved Jen from diving off the prom yacht in a drunken plunge. However, before we mull over how the gang can pick up the pieces, let's consider how things got so far in the first place.
We'll start with the easy one: Jen's depression. Of course, there's all that creepy stuff with her dad and the fact that she stopped going to therapy, but the real kicker was having to go to prom with Drue. Who can blame her? We wish her the best. Moving on...
So Gretchen considers taking a job in Boston, and Dawson wigs out. Naturally, Gretchen's like, "Hello, you're about to go to school in Los Angeles, and I can't move to Boston?" That little drama was resolved easily enough when she didn't get the job, but when Dawson spent the prom fawning over Joey, Gretchen realized he's still not over his first love. Thanks for catching up with the rest of us, Gretchen.
This brings us to Pacey. Let's all remember never to go camping with Deputy Doug because whatever happened on the trip that was supposed to lift Pacey's spirits turned him into an angry little camper. Joey didn't even bother to tell him about her pregnancy scare because she didn't want to upset him. Nonetheless, Pacey made a public declaration of his feelings of worthlessness and lack of love for Joey right on the prom dance floor. Somehow Joey makes him angry, but he doesn't really know why, so he feels guilty, but the guiltier he feels, the angrier he feels... The good news is that Jen's therapist now has an open spot in his schedule.
At least Jack and Tobey are happy.
