J17 goes on a second date with Joshua Jackson. But will we get a snog?

Last year, J17 went to visit the Prince Charming of boykind, Josh Jackson, in Wilmington, USA. He promised that he'd come to England and look us up as soon as the gang at Dawson's Creek broke up for summer hols. Yeah, right. "Good to see you again!" grins Josh, four month's later. Ohhh. It's heart-stopping to see him- although he's changed. Gone is the boyish hair; he's now sporting a manly crew cut. He's also hunked-up his beefy frame and looks set to take on the world. In his smart blue shirt and black chinos he's much more grown-up looking than Pacey, but one thing - rather two things - are exactly the same: those breath-taking, brown eyes (Hello? They're blue!!). I sit gawping for a bit and then realise I'd better get down to it. Unfortunately, Josh doesn't have all day...

J17: We haven't got much time, Josh. What would you like to do in the next 20 minutes.

Josh: Is this a trick question, or do I actually have a choice? We could just sit hear and talk, but I'm here for you. I think it's your choice!

J17: Imagine I'm the girl of your dreams. Where would we go and what would we do?

Josh: In my home town there's a place called Grass Mountain, which is across the water from the city. You can go up there at night and watch the sun go down. It's beautiful. So I'd take you there and we could just sit under the stars.

J17: Sounds lovely. Romantic are we?

Josh: Nah, if I'm romantic it's because I'm in love with the city! (laughs)

J17: How similar are you to Pacey?

Josh: There are bits of my personality that are like Pacey's. I'm pretty funny sometimes, I like to have fun and I enjoy the company of my friends, like he does.

J17: Have you become more like him?

Josh: No. I would like to say that I've become less like him. At 18 I was much closer to what I was like at 15, than now at 21. I wish I was more like him, 'cause he never lets anything stop him from doing stuff. But I'm not Pacey. Anybody who's expecting him is gonna be sorely disappointed!

J17: If you were both after me, who would snog me first?

Josh: It'd probably be him because he'd have the confidence to go after you. I'd wait in the wings for you to approach me.

J17: You've done your fair share of face-sucking courtesy of Dawson's. Which was the nicest?

Josh: (Laughing) Never kiss and tell!

J17: Your latest girlfriend was Brittney Daniel (Eve) and before that you dated Katie Holmes (Joey), right?

Josh: Errm... I don't really wanna talk about this to much...

J17: Did all the press attention make the breaking up with Katie harder than usual?

Josh: I will say, in our defence, that it wasn't difficult having a relationship with Katie. Our friendship, romantic or otherwise, is strong and we get along brilliantly, so all that stuff has never been too much of a problem.

J17: How do you feel about being a huge sex symbol?

Josh: I don't consider myself a sex symbol. I think that if you ever start thinking about yourself in that way then you've crossed a bad line. My sex life hasn't increased, so I have to say that I'm not really aware of it!

J17: We're halfway through the third series of Dawson's Creek over here. Which series has been your fave?

Josh: I think the first one will always be my favourite because that was when it was all new and fresh. But I really did enjoyed the love story in the second season and working with Meredith (Andie). We're a couple of maniacs together!

J17: Is it all going to come to an end when you finish high school, or will we have Dawson's Creek: The College Years?

Josh: It depends on the success of the show. We have one more year left in high school and then I don't know what will happen. All the characters will go to different colleges so, if the show does follow the college years, then I guess it will follow Dawson.

J17: How long have you got left on the show?

Josh: My contract means that I have to stay on the show for another three years, but I think we're getting towards the end. I'm happy to stick around at the moment, though, for as long as they want me.

J17: Where do you hang out when your not filming?

Josh: I live in Vancouver at my mom's place. It's the neighbourhood I grew up in and all my old friends are still around. So, even if I've been away for ten months, I can go to Nat's Pizzeria, where everyone still meets, and it's just like never leaving. It's cool!

J17: Do you think your lifestyle is the closest someone your age can get to heaven?

Josh: I don't think that at 21 I know what heaven is. But, for me now, it's nice warm day on a sunny beach. It's peace and quiet and relaxation. Basically, it's the opposite of my day-to-day existence, which is constant running around.

J17: In your new film THE SKULLS you play the lead. What was that like?

Josh: I had a great time. It's a thriller about a college kid who gets drawn into this secret organisation and then, once he's in, he has trouble getting out. It was fantastic because it was the first adult role I've had. It was a totally different challenge for me.

J17: So what's the best thing about being Joshua Jackson?

Josh: Getting to witness all the craziness first-hand. I have so many good stories to tell...

Before I could delve any deeper, the press officer from channel 4 dives in to wrestle Josh away from me. "Time's up," she says. As I turn to flash Josh one last smile, he offers out his hand. I'm about to shake it but all of a sudden something comes over me and I'm lunging at the poor guy, angling for a kiss! "You didn't expect me to go back to the office with a dry cheek, did you?" I joke, sheepishly. Josh laughs. That Pacey chuckle. And he's gone. Can't wait 'til our next date...
